Good inspectors join a national professional organization such as the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
Better inspectors also join local professional chapters like Tri-State ASHI, or Southern New Jersey ASHI, where they are constantly updating their knowledge and skills.
The Best inspectors have taken the Peer Review. In order to obtain the designation Master Inspector By Review® (MIBR®), an inspector has to find all of the must find deficiencies a panel of other experienced inspectors have identified in an actual house, answer the panel's questions and submit reports for review. This is an all-or-nothing test. Only a fraction of participants pass this stringent test. Vince Tecce was one of the first inspectors to achieve Master Inspector By Review® (MIBR®) in this region.
